DPS Makelaardij (Day Passenger Ships) was founded by Theo, Alexander, Onno and Marc. We are entrepreneurs who each in their own field have affinity with day passenger ships. In addition, we all have day passenger ships sailing and have an (international) network. Besides sales and purchase support, we also offer support in the financial (financing and investment) and business (acquisition and management) areas.

In the market we frequently encountered that specifically for day passenger vessels there was little to no buying and selling guidance available. And if a generic ship broker was engaged it was passive and commissions of 6%-8% were charged.

Theo

Day Passenger Ship

After half studying to be a physical therapist, this turned out not to be the future that suited him after all, and Theo ended up in passenger shipping. First with the running of hotel ships in Amsterdam, then it became day passenger shipping. The sailing area here was southern Netherlands (Zwijndrecht), then Zeeland (Zierikzee).

Onno

Day Passenger Ship

Trained in dredging and having traveled all over the world as a result, Onno bought his first ship in 1999 and converted it in-house as a hotel passenger ship. With this he sailed through the Netherlands and Belgium with mainly international guests.

The interest in building ships has always remained after that; Onno has supervised or started several construction projects over the years, from luxury passenger ships to bicycle-pedestrian ferries.

From 2005 to the present, the focus came to be on day passenger shipping with two ships of its own, with the sailing area being mainly on the Meuse River in North and Central Limburg.

Alexander

Day Passenger Ship

Alexander was brought up on sailing; he comes from a true inland navigation family, with brothers and a father who have always been active in inland navigation as well.

Together with his wife he runs a shipping company with ships for round trips, parties and celebrations. Alexander's sailing area has always been Zeeland (Port Zelande, Terneuzen).

Marc

Day Passenger Ship

Marc is an experienced financial and business advisor at DPS Brokerage. He assists both Buyer and Seller with the financial aspects associated with the purchase or sale of a day passenger vessel.

In addition, it often involves an ongoing business in combination with a day passenger vessel. This is precisely when a lot is involved and a proactive and no nonsense approach is of great value.
